US: Approval for PEDv vaccine wanted

Animal Health firm, Zoetis, is looking to get US approval for its Porcine Epidemic Diarrhoea virus (PEDv) vaccine.

The company wants approval by the end of 2014 and seeks a license from the USDA, this will permit Zoetis to sell the vaccine directly to pig farmers while further tests  are being carried out. If approved, the new drug would rival the only vaccine available thus far from Harrisvaccines.

The current available vaccine from Harrisvaccines is Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV) Vaccine, RNA, which was given a USDA conditional license in June 2014.
