New publisher for Pig Progress
Reed Business, publisher of Pig Progress, intends to sell all publishing activities of the Dutch agricultural media portfolio, part of the Proagrica division, to Doorakkeren BV.
It is the intention to place the publishing activities in the newly established subsidiary called Misset Uitgeverij BV, in which Doorakkeren BV has a majority interest and Reed Business BV has a minority interest.
Publishing activities of Pig Progress and other titles
The intended sale includes the publishing activities and related products, services and events of Future Farming, All About Feed, Dairy Global, Pig Progress, Poultry World and the Dutch brands Boerderij, Boerderij Vandaag, Pluimveehouderij, Groenten & Fruit, Trekker and Traktorpool. The sales and marketing activities performed for software company Dacom are also part of the deal. All 140 employees involved will be employed by Misset Uitgeverij BV.
Doorakkeren BV is a joint venture between Derk Haank, Cor Jan Willig and Luc van Os, specifically set up to acquire the activities of the Dutch agricultural media portfolio of Reed Business BV. All partners of Doorakkeren BV have a broad experience within publishing companies of business and consumer media.
The intention is to conclude the transaction per January 1st, 2019.
