Russia: Pig carcasses found – African Swine Fever determined

Swine carcasses are reported to have been found by specialists from the Territorial Administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor at a dumpsite at a settlement near Volgograd Oblast.

It showed that the pigs died from African swine fever. An investigation detected that the animals had been kept in one of the private farm holdings that earlier had been put under quarantine.

The information on the violation of the veterinary and sanitary legislation has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office of the Volgogradskaya Oblast for the measures of prosecutor’s supervision to be taken.
