Pig producer crisis costs jobs at Tican
Danish slaughter company, Tican, is facing 90 layoffs
as their pig supplies are dwindling.
At the end of May this year, the daily supply of slaughter pigs is due to
reduce by 15%.
In the coming months, further reductions are planned on a lesser scale.
The reason behind the reduction is that the backlog, which existed since
2006, has been cleared.
Slaughter pig capacity is been reduced to around 35,000 pigs per week.
