Pig Fair to focus on feed prices
An innovative programme of forums and workshops is on
the agenda to offer to lively debates, valuable information and free advice to
pig and poultry producers at this year's British Pig and Poultry
Fair.
According to event manager, Alice Bell, a major focus of this year's event,
which will be held 13-14 May in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, will be feed,
which will bring together all members of the supply chain to discuss how to
minimise the risk of feed prices.
"Managing the risk related to feed prices is of major importance to producers
and it is essential that the UK pigmeat, poultry and egg industries can address
the reality of rising world food prices and the potential role of GMOs," added
Alan Murphy, managing director of Fair sponsor ABN.
250 exhibitors covering the industry sectors of pigmeat, poultry and eggs
will be present. Exhibitors from the pig industry will stem from the following
areas:
- Breeding, rearing and finishing
- Housing and environmental control
- Health and hygiene
- Outdoor and organic
- Packing, processing and marketing
A new purpose-built theatre seating over 75 people will host the forums where
several pig and poultry-related issues will be explored.
