Russian ASF outbreak developments
Roughly 600 pigs will be culled in southern Russia to
prevent further spread of the African swine fever virus, which was detected last
week in the Stavropol Region, a spokesperson for the regional governor said on
Friday.
Following the outbreak Ukraine has banned pork imports
from the affected region. Also, Azerbaijan's State Veterinary Service has
imposed a ban on meat-related imports from Russia. The State Veterinary Service
said the temporary restriction measure applies to animal products, feedings and
food additives.
