The Nuscience group appoints new COO

In order to strengthen the organisation and to develop it’s platform in premix and feed specialties, Nuscience group appoints Jan Smulders as COO, effective 1 October 2011.

The Nuscience group , the premix and feed specialty business of the Agrifirm group, has realised a strong and steady growth over the past years. Agrifirm is one of Europe´s leading animal feed producers, after the merger of Agrifirm and Cehave Landbouwbelang in 2010 and is committed to further invest in Nuscience’s business in selected markets around the globe. The innovation oriented business model of Nuscience enables the group to continue a well-defined internal and external growth plan.
 
Jan Smulders has held various management positions in the animal nutrition sector over the past 25 years and has been responsible for the development of animal nutrition businesses in major agricultural markets around the world.
 
The new COO’s prime focus will be to support the current business and develop the growth plan in the emerging markets of Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. As CEO of the Nuscience group, Patrick Keereman will be leading the Nuscience group. He will follow up the all over development of the group and focus on innovation, synergy and international development in the Anglo American markets.
 
The Nuscience group currently operates businesses in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, Russia and China. It holds three product oriented business units with functional feed additives (Add´Itt), special concentrates (Vitamex, Pricor, Preconex and Lusai) and premixes (Pre-Mervo).
