Czech Republic’s sow herd shows strong growth in Q2

The pig sector in the Czech Republic is growing again. In the second quarter of 2012, the country’s sow herd grew by 9% year-on-year.

Many pig producers have converted to mandatory group housing for sows, Dutch agricultural title Boerderij reports. Additionally, they are investing heavily in enlarging the sow herd.
