MS Schippers launches feed that prepares piglets for weaning

MS Schippers has introduced MS TerraFeed Fe, which helps young animals naturally get used to solid feed even before weaning. The product is composed of natural ingredients, including fermentable fibres, humic acids and iron chelates. The feed is tasty, easily digestible and matches the behaviour of young piglets in the farming pen. 

Tonisity celebrates 10 years in animal health and nutrition

Tonisity has celebrated a decade in business. Since its founding in April 2015, Tonisity has focused on gut health and hydration products, improving the well-being of pigs, calves, lambs, goat kids, cats and dogs. The company has expanded to more than 60 countries, delivering nutritional solutions that drive animal health and production for farmers and pet owners alike.

Agrifirm strengthens position in organic bulk feed market 

As from 31 March 2025, Agrifirm’s organic feed is produced by a new partner Naturmühle Vechteland, the production company of Raiffeisen Ems-Vechte. This partner works with local raw materials. Agrifirm’s organic grains are also added to the company’s organic bulk feed, allowing the company to offer an even more sustainable product directly and locally. 

Eurolysine launches feasibility study to expand lysine production capacity in the EU

Eurolysine, the sole lysine producer located in the European Union, has launched a feasibility study aimed at increasing its lysine production capacity. This initiative aims to strengthen the EU’s sovereignty in essential amino acids for animal nutrition while responding to the growing demand for sustainable and locally produced feed ingredients. It is anticipated that this new project will see a 20% increase in production capacity by 2027.

Kohshin Engineering opens branch in Kuala Lumpur

Kohshin Engineering, a Japanese company specialising in sustainable solutions for the poultry and livestock industry, has announced the opening of its new branch in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Named Kohshin International, the new office will act as a hub to serve Asian markets with faster, stronger, and more localised support. 

Sainsbury’s and Cranswick sign new partnership

Sainsbury’s and Cranswick have announced a new 10-year partnership that will see all Sainsbury’s British pork, sausages, premium bacon and gammon, and cooked meats supplied through the UK producer. This will be made possible by the British farmers working for Sainsbury’s and Cranswick under the Sainsbury’s Pork Producer Group. 

Alltech awarded EcoVadis sustainability medals

Alltech has been awarded 4 medals from EcoVadis, a provider of business sustainability assessments. Alltech Coppens (the Netherlands), which develops and produces fish feed and nutritional solutions, and Alltech’s Woolfox manufacturing facility in the UK, earned Platinum Medals, while its global operations and manufacturing facility in Serdán, Mexico, earned EcoVadis Silver Medals, ranking them in the top 15% of businesses assessed.

Beneo inaugurates new pulse-processing plant

Beneo, a manufacturer of functional ingredients for food, feed and pharma and member of the Südzucker Group, has officially inaugurated its first pulse-processing plant. The opening is the result of an investment of around €50 million by the Südzucker Group in its site in Obrigheim, Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. Here, pulses such as the local faba bean are processed into ingredients for food and feed production. 

Alltech’s Agri-Food Outlook shares global feed production survey data

Alltech’s 2025 Agri-Food Outlook shows that global feed production rebounded in 2024 after a stagnant 2023, increasing from 1.380 billion metric tonnes (mt) (+1.2%) to 1.396 billion mt. The top feed-producing countries in 2024 were China, the US and Brazil. Global pig feed production experienced a loss in 2024 of 0.6%, leading to a decreased total of 369.293 million mt. Growth in the European, Latin American and North American pork segments was counterbalanced by downturns in Africa and the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Oceania.

Novus appoints new senior sales manager

With extensive experience in customer relations and strategic management, Elbert G. Platon recently took the role of Novus’ senior sales manager responsible for leading and managing the sales team in the Philippines. Platon previously served as DSM’s head of sales for performance solutions in the Philippines.
