Price of German natural pork shoots up

22-02-2008 | |

In the course of 2007, the price of natural pork in Germany has increased considerably.

This has led to problems offloading the pork. By January to December 2007, the price per kilo slaughtered weight Class E pork rose to €3 from €2.55, according to German Consumer Pricing Agency, ZMP.

Increases in feed prices are not the only reason for the price hike, but rather the scarce supply of natural pork.
