Pig veterinary conferences – are they getting a little overcrowded?

There appears to be an increasing number of pig veterinary conferences on the horizon and some are overlapping. This is rather a shame as it dilutes resources and opportunities for sponsorship as well as attendees and the chances for participants to share and present new information.

In the next few months we have seven globally important conferences, and in the first six months of next year, another three have been scheduled – see below.

It is such a pity when two major conferences clash or overlap. However, on the positive side, it shows that swine research is very much alive and active, on a national, regional and international basis.

How can we overcome the double booking or overcrowding of important conferences? Could we set up a dedicated webpage or website, so that conference secretaries could put on their dates and contact details and thus try to avoid these problems in the future?
