Pig brings traffic to standstill

A sow stopped in the middle of a busy road near Bramshaw in Hampshire, United Kingdom to give her nine youngsters a bite to eat, refusing to move along, forcing motorists to wait with tailbacks stretching along the road.

The pannage season is underway at present, which means that roaming pigs will be a common sight. Farmers are permitted to allow their animals graze for up to 60 days on Crown land.

According to Dr Bedford of Hythe, “it was an amazing sight, but getting round her wasn’t easy”.

A sow’s got to do what a sow’s got to do!
