PPC Linley Valley Fresh, one of Australia’s largest fresh pork producers, opened officially a new AUD$4m (US$3.6m) pork boning line at the Wooroloo works in western Australia.

Kim Chance, Minister for Agriculture for WA commented that this new boning line is a “fine example of forward-thinking by the Craig Mostyn Group using the latest technologies in an ever-increasing global competitive marketplace.”

Chairman of the Group’s board, Jim Kennedy, announced that this new technology, which originates in Iceland “enables tracing the product from the farm to the plate through a labelling system, thus ensuring a high-class quality product for the customer.”

According to Ron Penn, General Manager of PPC Linley, the new boning system will boost production significantly by “enabling higher volumes to be processed and consequently expansion of the workforce and product range.”
