CPF Frozen Food Products sees its newly launched range of health foods ‘Smart Meals’ as appealing to health conscious customers and those on special diets with their low cholesterol, no preservatives and no MSG ingredients.

According to Sukhawat Dansermsuk, CPF’s managing director, the company earns about 700 million baht (US$ 200,000) yearly through its other two frozen food brands – CP Meal and BK Meal.

With ‘Smart Meals’ the sales target is around two billion baht (US$63m) in the first year with 40% sales in the local market and 60% from sales through exports to the US, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and the EU.

“We want to encourage consumers to buy frozen meals as their main meal whereas in the past, they were purchased for convenience,” commented Sukhawat who added that 30 million baht (US$900,000) will be invested in advertising the new ‘Smart Meals’.
