Betagro plans three year overseas expansion

“Customer demand”, says Nopporn Vayuchote, Betagro executive vice president for group business, for Thailand’s second-biggest agribusiness, in 2011-to2014, will focus on capturing more export markets in its “farm to fork” and technology exports, in South Asia, particularly India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, in a break-away from the group’s main business which has been focused 80% on its domestic market.

We can balance our business against the strengthening baht as our imports are higher than exports now,” he says, adding that Betagro’s©total sales are set to reach Baht 55 billion this year as it sustains an annual growth of 10-15%, while increase by 20%, its pork exports to 10,000 tonnes in 2011, making it Thailand’s biggest pork exporter, whose main market is Japan.
