Belgium hopes to see Chinese ban lifted

The People’s Republic of China has promised to re-evaluate the import ban of Belgian pork.

Belgium has not been allowed to export pork to China from the month of February due to levels of dioxine found in Belgian pigmeat.
 
Altough the crisis did not last long, China has been maintaining the ban. For this reason, the Belgian minister of Public Health Rudy Demotte expressed his objections to the Chinese minister of Food, who paid a visit to Belgium this week.
