Foot-and-Mouth Disease emerges in China
In south west China Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) has been confrimed in Guangyuan, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
Lab results confirmed FMD type-O, after it has been reported that 30 pigs at a slaughtehouse displayed FMD symptoms, said a report by China Daily.
Measures
Currently measures are being carried out to stop the spread of FMD – 124 pigs were culled and the infected area had been sterilised.
