ASF may have already entered Lithuania
It is possible that African Swine Fever (ASF) has already spread to Lithuania, according to the Russian veterinary watchdog Rosselhoznadzor.
Russia is pressing Lithuania to step up checks for African Swine Fever (ASF) following reports that large numbers of dead wild boar have been found close to the country’s border with Belarus.
Sergey Dankvert, head of Russia’ state veterinary service Rosselkhoznadzor, raised the issue with his Lithuanian counterpart Jonas Milius on the sidelines of the ‘Green Week’ agricultural conference in Berlin.
