is the director of AEVC, which is his consultancy firm servicing the pork industry in the area of pork health and in all matters that include the selection and use of vaccines. He is also the executive director of the European Association of Porcine Health Management. Veterinarian by education, graduated in 1980 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and worked in several veterinary practices before joining the pharmaceutical industry (Intervet International). In the pharmaceutical industry he held several leading positions but Eggen always worked at the interface between the research departments and the market. He was involved in the development and introduction of different important vaccines and pharmaceutical products.
