YHH Pig project moves into next phase
Practical steps to improve pig health will be made as the Yorkshire and Humberside Health (YHH) project moves into its next stage.
Over the summer, work has gained pace on the ‘tool kit’ to support pig producers in the project, including online mapping of pig farms and the veterinary health status survey.©
Producers across the region showed strong dedication towards working together to overcome pig health challenges at the project launch meeting in July.©
Now a series of local producer meetings has been organised, running between late September and mid October, where the main aim is to form local producer clusters.©
All producers are invited to come along and meet others in the neighbouring area. Topics up for discussion include:
•©who might want to work together and form small clusters
•©what level of information sharing people feel comfortable with
•©what diseases people want to tackle
•©what help people need
