Rib appetiser used to promote US pork
The Pork Checkoff is using a new rib appetiser at a US
casual-dining chain to promote pork more broadly, the National Pork Board
announced.
Ohio-based Damon's Grill, which has 80 locations, has partnered with the
Ohio Pork Producers Association to launch the Crispy Baby Back Rib appetizer.
The pork logo will be featured on Damon's menu inserts, lobby banners,
guest check inserts, newspaper ads and local marketing fliers. It also will
appear on NTN Buzztime ad screens, the restaurant's television network.
Promotional items also will bear the phrase "Brought to you by America's Pork
Producers."
"Using the pork logo in so many locations will increase the
awareness of pork and pork products," said Howard Greenblatt, national
foodservice marketing manager for the Pork Checkoff. "It will help consumers tie
the pork appetizer in the Damon's Grill Restaurants to pork products in the
grocery store."
