Pork promotion targets popular magazines
In order to boost the profile of pork within the home,
subscribers to Family Circle, Woman's Day, Better Homes & Gardens, Ladies
Home Journal and Good Housekeeping magazines are receiving a four-page recipe
section during June and July courtesy of the Pork Checkoff, the National Pork
Board announced.
The direct-mail campaign will reach 5 million consumers in the checkoff's
target audiences, according to Rick O'Fallon, retail marketing manager, western
division, for NPB.
Subscribers in the American market who receive any of
the five selected magazines will get a mini-booklet of pork recipes geared
toward summer grilling and entertaining along with a coupon for products such as
Oscar Mayer center-cut bacon.
"We are projecting that this promotion will
move millions of pounds of pork this summer," O'Fallon
said.
