IPVS 2012 location announced
During the closing of the IPVS congress in Durban,
South Africa it was announced that Jeju, South Korea will be the location for
the 2012 IPVS.
South Korea beat out competition from Brussels (Belgium), Cancun (Mexico),
and Prague (Czech Republic) to win the honour of hosting the event.
The
21st IPVS congress in 2010 will be held July 18-21,in Vancouver, Canada. That
was decided 2 yrs ago.
This year's event in Durban had 1985 visitors of
which 1800 delegates, representing altogether 52 countries, made it the biggest
IPVS congress ever held outside Europe. IPVS president Peter Evans said "that
was far better than we had hoped."
918 scientific papers were presented
of which Porcine Circovirus 2 received much attention.
