82,000 pigs infected with blue ear disease
Nearly 82,000 pigs in Vietnam's two central provinces
of Nghe An and Ha Tinh and northern Thanh Hoa province have been infected since
last month with Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), known as
blue ear disease.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has asked
local relevant agencies to kill all infected pigs to prevent the spread of the
disease; the ministry's Department of Animal Health was cited as saying.
