Hungarian pig stock down
The latest livestock figures from Hungary, recorded in
December 2007, reveal that the pig stock has decreased.
According to figures from the Central Statistics Office in Budapest, pigs
amounted to 3.9m head, among which 262,000 were sows.
In comparison to December 2006, there was a clear 3% drop in the overall
herd.
The sow herd has experienced an even greater reduction of 10% at the end of
2007 in comparison to a year previously.
