Cool-sow system

The actual temperature in a farrowing room is between 22°C and 27°C. At this temperature, sows have difficulty getting rid of body heat – resulting in worse feed intake, which has consequences for her litter.

Jovas Agro International from the Netherlands introduces an air-cooled impermeable floor plate, to be installed in sow farrowing pens. It is connected to and cooled through an air intake system installed beneath the floors and walkways in the room.

The air intake can be connected to a network of ventilation tubes – for both air cooling and/or heating purposes), and can be used either with or without nasal ventilation. (http://www.jovas.nl)
