Schering-Plough acquires Organon BioSciences
Global healthcare company Schering-Plough announced on
Monday that it has completed its acquisition of Organon
Organon BioSciences, which is comprised mainly of a human health business
(Organon) and an animal health business (Intervet), was purchased by
Schering-Plough from the Dutch Akzo Nobel NV for a sum of €11b.

Schering will now acquire additional vaccines such as VISTA/BOVILIS which
target respiratory and reproductive infectious diseases in cattle.
Antiparasitics will be added to the existing product portfolio such as
SAFE-GUARD/PANACUR, a de-wormer for many animal species along with a number of
other animal health preparations.
