Pork Racing captures championship
Frank Kimmel and the Pork Racing team have rewritten the ARCA record books by
earning their eighth ARCA RE/MAX Series Championship and seventh championship in
a row.
The team, sponsored by America's Pork Producers - altogether about 75,000 -
managed to surpass the mark of seven championships previously set by Richard
Petty and Dale Earnhardt.
"I want to offer special thanks to America's Pork Producers," Kimmel said.
"Having them step up to become our primary sponsor this year made all of the
difference."
One hundred pork producers from Prestage Farms and several Iowa counties
watched Kimmel race and served pork to media, drivers, crew members and visiting
VIPs.
"It was tough to miss pork that weekend," said Jarrod Sutton, retail
marketing manager, Midwest, for the National Pork Board.
"Every year the competition in ARCA is increasing, and the challenge to go
out and win several races in a year is that much harder," Kimmel says. "But Pork
Producers' passion for our race team and the pride we take in representing
75,000 pork producers across the United States are an advantage that no other
team can touch."
