Podcast makes its way into pork industry
The US Pork Checkoff launched a new initiative for
providing information about the pork industry: the Pork Pod, offering
podcasts.
Podcasts, being audio files available online, can be downloaded from the
Internet and subsequently listened to on a computer, an iPod or an MP3
player.
Topics
“This will be an easy and convenient way for producers to hear from experts
in the industry on current issues and hot topics in pork production,†said
Teresa Roof, public relations manager at the US National Pork Board (NPB).
"Our podcasts will resemble long-form radio interviews and will use experts
on topics such as exports, PCVAD, animal indentification, the new nutrient
database, PQA Plus and more."
The site offers an RSS-feed option, warning regular users that the site is
updated with the latest additions.
Items last approximately seven to ten minutes.
More pig podcasts
Pork Pod is not
the first podcast service being online. Earlier on, also US-based
SwineCast launched a website with audio news items on
pig industry.
