Classical Swine Fever in Mongolia

Classical Swine Fever (CSF) has been detected in Mongolia. The outbreak as occurred in Songinikharikhan district.

Dr Bolortuya Purevsuren, deputy director and chief veterinary officer, Veterinary and Animal Breeding Agency, Ministry for Industry and Agriculture, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia reported the disease to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) this week.



Out of 993 pigs, 451 cases were found – 993 pigs were destroyed. Currently the source of the outbreak is unknown and investigations are continuing. Control measures are in place.
