Research: Antibiotic-free label does not guarantee MRSA-free pork

03 Feb 2012 - A study conducted by the epidemiologists at the University of Iowa, College of Public Health analysed 395 separate pork packages concluded that there was no difference in the prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus in pork from either background, be it conventionally farm raised animals or those labeled antibiotic –free. Pig feed dominates Spanish feed production

03 Feb 2012 - Feed production in Spain in 2010 reached a total of 29,7 million tonnes, an increase of 0.11% over the previous year, according to the final report on production data published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.
