ISU offers ‘Pig Cents’ program for pork producers
Continuing poor economic conditions can mean difficult decisions for pork producers, and many are looking for information as they make those choices in their operations.
Iowa State University (ISU) Extension swine field specialists Larry McMullen, Tom Miller, Terry Steinhart and Mark Storlie are coordinating the program, “Pig Cents for the Future” to help provide this information, assistance and resources to producers.
The programs are sponsored by ISU Extension, Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) and Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC.)

The same information will be presented on two dates in different locations: Sept. 9 at Montgomery Hall on the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Iowa City, and Sept. 10 at the Manchester Community Center, 200 East Acers St., in Manchester. Both meetings will run from 1 to 4 p.m.

Although there is no fee to attend, people are asked to preregister to ensure there are adequate numbers of materials.
