US: Pork and poultry recalled, no inspection

Vatran’s Fine Foods in the US is recalling approx. 11,500 pounds of assorted meat and poultry products because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The pork, beef, lamb©and poultry products were produced on various dates ranging from March 2009 through October 2009, and were distributed to retail stores in the San Joaquin Valley area in California.

The problem was discovered by FSIS. The inspection service has received no reports of illness due to consumption of these products.
