RSPCA to monitor pig farms for cruelty
The RSPCA is hiring an inspector to monitor intensive farms in South Australia for animal cruelty.
For the intensive pig industry there’ll be restrictions on the times that sows are allowed to be kept in sow stalls.
RSPCA executive director Dr Mark Peters says the inspector will help enforce the Animal Welfare Act and legislative changes to the chicken and pig industry over the next two years.
