Alltech appoints David Byrne
Former European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, David Byrne, has joined the board as non-executive director of Alltech in an announcement on Wednesday last.
Animal nutrition producer Alltech is a recognized leader in quality assurance and traceability through its well-known AQS or Alltech Quality System.
Key player
Byrne, who was a key player in the establishment of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and European Centre for Disease Control (ECDC), will strengthen Alltech’s commitment to quality in the feed industry, according to Dr Pearse Lyons, director of the company.
Alltech will continue its commitment to assisting the feed industry in the next decade and beyond by focusing on safety within the animal feed chain to safety of food supplies, an issue which concerns most consumers worldwide.
The company’s manufacturing and warehouse facilities meet all global standards of HACCP and have attained regional standards in North America, Europe and ISO certification in Mexico and China.
