Acidal® Nc proves worthwhile to piglets

Belgian feed additive producer Impextraco's new Acidal® has proven worthwhile for piglets.
At a trial conducted at Leuven University in Belgium, the daily weight gain
of the piglets consuming the feed with this acidifier was almost 6% higher (387
g vs 366 g) than in the control group.
As feed intakes were not significantly different between the groups,
the feed conversion ratio was better in the case of the experimental group (1.52
vs 1.65 g). The piglets receiving the feed containing the acidfier were 800
grams heavier at the end of the experiment. A total of 98 piglets, aged between
21 and 28 days (average weight 8.8 kg), were allocacted to one of the groups
(control feed or experimental feed).
The new acidifier creates favourable conditions for a better digestion of
the feed and helps to control pathogenic bacteria, which ensures a smoother
transition during weaning.
