Vion: Changes to the management structure of UK food activities

//10 Feb 2012
Vion Food Group is set to modify the management of its food activities in the United Kingdom.
Ton Christiaanse, a member of Vion NV’s Executive Board, was appointed CEO of Vion Food UK after the acquisition of the Grampian Country Food Group in 2008.

The integration and restructuring of Vion Food UK was successfully implemented under his leadership. This now obviates the dual role of CEO Vion Food UK and member of the Executive Board of Vion NV. Ton Christiaanse has therefore decided to leave Vion.

Vion respects Ton’s decision. Maarten Kusters, currently director of operations of Vion Food Netherlands, will be appointed the CEO of Vion Food UK as of 1 March 2012. The board of directors of Vion Food Netherlands will take over Maarten Kusters’ activities. Ton will actively support Vion Food UK until mid-2012 focusing on achieving strategic projects and ensuring the optimum transfer of his responsibilities.

Peter Barr CBE, the former chairman of the British Meat and Livestock Commission will continue to be Vion UK’s non-executive chairman.
