Vietnam: Blue-ear pig disease outbreak

It has been announced that blue-ear pig disease was discovered in Vietnam.
The discovery in Ward 5 of Tan An city was made last week July 21. Medical samples taken from the pigs suspected of the disease confirmed that there was an outbreak of blue ear disease.
 
Pigs destroyed
The provincial veterinary department already destroyed 200 dead or seriously ill pigs and 40 infected pigs are currently monitored and treated in isolation, according to reports.
 
Assistance
Financial assistance has been set up by the province. The assistance goes to households with infected pigs. Check-points around Ward 5 to prevent the movement of livestock have also been created.
