Hi Vincent.
Don't believe all those Americans tell you. These types of sheds run on natural ventilation ( blinds go up and down as temps in/ decrease. When it gets too warm in the shed, the curtains go up and the fans kick in. A terrible design for various reasons. Imagine, shed temp. 22 deg, wind still day, temp. rises a few degrees in the shed, curtains close and tunnel ventilation cuts in . In order to have a uniform temp in the shed, the fan cap. must be reasonable high to avoid the temp to rise as the air moves towards the fans. The farmer states that the air moves through the shed @ 12 Km / hr which is 3.61 meters/second. Way too fast for pigs ( forgot the article you published on Kata values??) but good for broilers ( probably where he got the idea from without understanding ventilation requirements for pigs). Last but not least:, I count 10 large fans and two smaller ones. Assuming the smaller once have a cap of 20.000 m3hr each then the 10 large fans must have a cap. of 116,213m3/hr. In short, to get the air moving at 12km/hr he should have at least another 10 large tunnel fans.

Kind regards
