Dutchman wins Janssen Award at IPVS
// 24 Jun 2008
Dutch veterinarian Dr Theo Geudeke has become the
winner of the biannual ‘Pig management Award’ of Janssen Animal Health, related
to the best paper at this year's edition of the congress of the International
Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS).
At the conference, held
in Durban, South Africa, Geudeke became the third recipient of this award. His
paper, considered the most internationally relevant, deals with group housing of
sows in early gestation and gives an analysis of risk factors.
The prize, a painting of pigs by the Flemish artist Ward Nijs, was given to Dr Geudeke by IPVS president Dr Peter Evans. Geudeke is employed at the Animal Health Service in Deventer, the Netherlands.
