Venue is the EMEA's headquarters at Canary Wharf.
Among the topics to be explored at the conference are: the international
regulatory environment, recent and future innovations in animal health and the
issue of partnerships and alliances with the aim to advance worldwide treatment,
prevention and control of animal diseases.
Regulatory environment
Head of the Veterinary and
Inspections Unit of the EMEA and Program Co-Chair, David Mackay, commented that
the agency is pleased to host a conference to discuss important matters such as
improving the regulatory environment for animal medicines. "Recent outbreaks of
avian influenza, Foot-and-Mouth Disease and bluetongue have highlighted the
difficulty in gaining access to effective animal health products around the
world."
A number of international organisations, academic institutions,
national animal health authorities and industry associations will be represented
at the conference.
Facilitate dialogue
Dr med
Brigitte Franke-Bray, director of DIA Europe, believes that the conference, by
providing a neutral forum, will facilitate dialogue among key players in
veterinary medicine and animal health worldwide.
