Cancún, Mexico wins bid for IPVS Congress 2014

The 23rd edition of the International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) Congress in 2014 will be held in Cancún, Mexico.
 This was decided after a vote at the last day of the current IPVS Congress in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
 
Three cities contended for the 2014 Congress, apart from Cancún, Madrid, Spain joined in and Dublin, Ireland. The approximately 630 veterinarians voted for both Dublin and Cancún. The Mexican city won in the second round of voting.
 
It is the second time the Congress will be held in Mexico – the first time was in 1980.
 
In 2012, the Congress will be held in Jeju, South Korea.
