US firm recalls pork products - mislabelling and undeclared allergen problem
27 Sep 2010 - Mekong Fresh Meats, a Mosinee, Wis., establishment, is recalling approximately 29,893 pounds of cured uncooked pork ginger sausages because they contain an undeclared allergen, wheat, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. UK: Antibiotic-resistant bacteria in farm animals have potential to spread to humans/ NFU’s angry response

22 Sep 2010 - Excede (ceftiofur crystalline free acid) Sterile Suspension from Pfizer Animal Health is now approved by the U.S. Center for Veterinary Medicine and the Food and Drug Administration for the control of swine respiratory disease (SRD) associated with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus parasuis and Streptococcus suis in groups of pigs where SRD has been diagnosed.

Thailand: Strong baht cuts fertiliser prices
22 Sep 2010 - Fertiliser, among the 39 product items on the Commerce Ministry's price control list, should be cut by about 2,500 baht a tonne, as the strong baht has made imports cheaper, says Vatchari Vimooktayon, the department's director-general, adding that 16-20-0 fertiliser is still being quoted locally at 14,000 baht per tonne.
