High costs hit Dutch pig incomes

Dutch pig producers are losing money due to high
costs for feed and manure disposal, according to a Dutch agricultural newspaper.
Breeding pig farms in the Netherlands saw their incomes fall in 2006, while
slaughter pig producers earned the same as in 2005, according to provisional

Cargill aims at 1% less emissions

New Russian import restrictions for EU meat

The Russian authorities demand that all the EU meat that is imported into
Russia from March 31 onwards need to have a detailed health report. Countries
that do not include such a health certificate take the risk that all animal
products will be denied to enter Russia, according to the Russian food agency.
