Earning cash for smelling livestock manure 02 Jan 2008

The students have to place their noses inside an olfactometer and smell diluted samples of air taken from different locations on farms.

The project is being conducted by Albert Heber, a professor of agriculture and biological engineering at Purdue. The purpose of the project is to improve the methods for determining a given livestock farming operation's odour emissions.
