CSF found at second Romanian Smithfield farm 08 Aug 2007

It is the second farm in the region, near the border with Hungary, in less than a week, causing the slaughter of some 16,000 animals.


Other farm
Last week, the Romanian authorities found an outbreak at another Smithfield pig farm in the village of Cenei. Here, about 20,000 animals had to be killed.


Romania's Veterinary Health Authority added that it expected more outbreaks. These are the first outbreaks of CSF in the area since 2003.
