Food and feed safety seminar attracts delegates from all over the world

Anitox, the leading company providing solutions for safer food and feed, welcomed visitors from Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) to its base in Northamptonshire, UK during December for a three-day conference to highlight how the products and technical services which it provides can help food producers, feed manufacturers and livestock farmers to meet future legislative and economic challenges.

Anitox develops and manufactures anti-microbial products which not only improve the safety of animal feeds, feed ingredients and foodstuffs for human consumption, but also help livestock producers and feed manufacturers to reduce their production costs, improve operating efficiency and meet due-diligence requirements by supplying pathogen-free feed.

Delegates from the 11 countries within the Europe-Middle East-Africa region, together with Canada, considered a range of issues which impact on all involved in the global food supply chain. They included current regulations affecting European Union and non-EU markets, impending and future legislation, technical developments, together with the challenges facing each market and the solutions which Anitox provides.

Roger Mann, regional director for Anitox in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, commented: “It is a very exciting time for Anitox. We have more than 30 years experience in antimicrobial and mould-control technology in finished livestock feeds and the raw materials used to produce them, and are at the forefront of the industry in terms of providing products which provide safe feed to protect the health of livestock and consumers throughout the world.

“Increasingly-stringent food safety legislation and greater pressure from consumers for safer food has already substantially increased demand for our products from the feed milling and primary meat, egg and fish production industries. We now have a strong pipeline of new products that are at the cutting-edge of technology coming through our Research & Development programme, which will further increase the volume of business in existing markets and take us into new areas. They will be essential in helping livestock producers, feed manufacturers and food producers to meet future demands and challenges.”

The Anitox product line currently includes Termin-8® and Monoprene® bacterial control agents, the Maxi-Mil® milling efficiency program, MonoProp® and Punch® mould control agents, together with Blue Royale® water treatment and Sorb-It® aflatoxin binder. The business has an international network dedicated to providing top-quality products which are supported by the best technical service, engineers, laboratory technicians and customer service representatives.

Anitox, which is ISO 9001:12000 and GMP+ Certified, now supplies many of the world’s Top 25 feed manufacturers and each year more than 30 million tonnes of feed and raw materials are treated with Termin-8® to ensure that they are pathogen-free, while many feed manufacturers also use Maxi-Mil® to improve the efficiency of their milling operations.
