Red meat demand plummeting, food marketing expert says
The global population may be on the rise, but demand for red meat is falling, according to Imperial College's food marketing expert, David Hughes.
Speaking at the at the recent AgriLIVE's Big Debate, Hughes stated "Globally over the next 10-15 years beef and lamb products will be flat or declining and with the price of beef double that of pork, it is a threat for red meat."
Hugues further added that the sector had some work to do before producing a consistent product.
