About 15 years ago, the Canadian pig industry started to grow rapidly and it continued to do so until about 2005. Ever since, the country’s producers have suffered some severe blows. How a strong Canadian dollar, the introduction of circovirus vaccines and new US legislation put real challenges on Canadian hog production.
