Fine breed pigs introduced in Chongqing
Chongqing has introduced 100 fine breed pigs from the US, CQ news has reported. The pigs, each worth 30,000 yuan RMB, are currently being quarantined in Guangdong.
The weight of a normal pig can reach 100 kilograms by 200 days’ feed, but the fine breed of pig can reach 112.7 kilograms within 147 days. In addition, the lean meat rate of the fine breed of pig exceeds 70%, in comparison to below 50% in normal pigs.
The fine breed pigs are estimated to be on the market by the end of next year.
